SPOILER ALERTS ! ! !I was surprised to find that I loved this story. I mean REALLY loved this story. Surprised because the jury is still out for me when it comes to the author's other stories. I find gentle, vulnerable men sexy; not the sterotypical boring alpha male. I identify with sexually confident and assertive women; not the stultifying submissive female. While I am no prude, I don't condone or find titillating any physical or mental force or harm of people during sexual acts whatsoever. In addition, I don't like any role subscribed to a partner (i.e. sub/dom) but find it far more exciting to trade roles depending on mood at the moment.
However, this story achieved great sensuality between this couple and is even more admirable because the author accomplished it in such a short tale. Even without indepth character development, I felt really invested in this couple. As an added bonus, the writer never resorted to the obscenities or degradations of women many self publishers employ in this genre of erotica.
My only criticism was that the author needed more proofreading for errors that a spellchecker will not catch. Being of an exacting nature (which is a positive characteristic in my line of work), I have listed examples at loc 85 -the feet are weary, not wary, at loc 94 -a compassionate..., this sentence makes no sense, at loc 167 - it is HIS shoulder instead of hers, at loc 195 - no apostrophe in whimperings, and at loc 221 - "is", a superfluous word before shut. There may be more errors but I am a health care provider; I do not style myself a writer.
In closing, I find the grammatical errors negligible in the face of such superb writing. It is rare to find a writer who can convey a story of such deep feeling in so few words. Simply put, kudos.
